Oct 17, 2008 15:14:15 by dcguy Sygate was bought out by Symantec at the end of 2005. The firewall has excellent logging features and a nice graphic interface. The last beta version was 5.6.3408 which was never offically released in December 2005, but can be downloaded from a server that was used by Sygate developers. With the obvious age of the last version, the firewall may not be up to snuff as current firewall programs. I used the program on one of my laptops and came across malware that turned off the firewall (I did get a warning about this action). If you are a pretty safe surfer, this firewall should be adequate for older PC systems (up to Windows XP). One note about the option settings - remember to turn off "access as a server" rights for any program on the firewall application list. The program allows it as default. The last beta build is available on this website.

Thanks to this web site for still offering it since Symantec purchased Sygate and made the product's newer versions completely useless.
